Why spend time blogging?

While I would love to make a small fortune on blogging, or at least make enough to pay my bills each month without being homeless, I don't blog just for the money. I have a very large family! So large it's hard to keep them all straight.

Let's see, there's Mom and Dad. Then there's Mom's ex-husband who is my step dad who raised me... and his wife, who didn't. But she's still mom. And then Mom's current husband and Dad's wife. That's 3 moms and 3 dads. All equally important in my life. Now add in the siblings. Kelda, Karl, Daniel, Kevin and Sky and Jason I grew up knowing and then add in the step siblings I gained after I moved out... Carrie, Erica, DeeDee, Chris, James, Micheal, Nisha, Fairy Princess, that one I always forget and the foster kids mom takes in that become part of the family and all the adopted siblings Sara, Michelle, and uhm, gawd what is her name!?

And my siblings have children. Let's see, there is Chaun-Rai, Cyle, Dylan, Gavin, Aurora, Cory, Courtney, the other 4 that are DeeDee's, the 3 or 4 Chris has, the one Sara has, the one Micheal is going to have... actually his wife, but whatever, you know what I mean... Nisha's two. Or is that three?

Then the cousins. Heather, Danny, Annie, Michel... Oh forget it. I already forgot all my cousins names and Aunts and Uncles are WAY too many to remember. And that's just my side. My husband's side isn't any better with 9 siblings and that one elusive step sibling that no one likes anyway.

We don't have a family tree, we have a family hedge row and it's spilling into the neighbors yard.

Now imagine trying to send out cards and pictures and updates to every person in the family. It's just not happening! That is why I have a blog. I write updates, post pictures, yammer on about myself, my writing, the kids, the van, the sailing, the boat and anything else I want to talk about. It's perfect! I couldn't ask for anything easier. Except maybe less holidays.
